Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This 1953 set of six stamps represents Jordan's currency transition from the Palestinian mil to the Jordanian fils following the country's independence. Issued by the Government of Jordan through its Ministry of Post & Communications, the set features overprints converting the original 'Mils' denominations to 'Fils' with added 'Postage' markings. The stamps showcase three significant Islamic architectural sites: the Mosque in Hebron depicted on the lower denominations, the iconic Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem on the middle values, and the historic city of Acre on the highest denomination. Each stamp displays intricate Arabic calligraphy and decorative Islamic geometric patterns framing the central architectural subjects. The overprints appear in either red or black ink, creating visual variety across the set. Five additional variant records document printing errors including inverted and doubled 'Postage' overprints, as well as color variations in the overprint ink. This issue reflects Jordan's administrative consolidation of its postal system while celebrating the Islamic architectural heritage of the broader Levantine region under Jordanian postal authority.

تمثل هذه المجموعة من ستة طوابع الصادرة عام ١٩٥٣ انتقال الأردن من عملة الميل الفلسطيني إلى الفلس الأردني بعد استقلال البلاد. أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة من خلال وزارة البريد والاتصالات، وتحمل الطوابع توشيحات تحول فئات 'الميل' الأصلية إلى 'الفلس' مع إضافة عبارة 'بريدية'. تعرض الطوابع ثلاثة مواقع معمارية إسلامية مهمة: مسجد الخليل على الفئات المنخفضة، وقبة الصخرة المشرفة في القدس على الفئات المتوسطة، ومدينة عكا التاريخية على الفئة العليا. يحمل كل طابع خطوطاً عربية معقدة وأنماطاً هندسية إسلامية تزين الموضوع المعماري المركزي. تظهر التوشيحات بالحبر الأحمر أو الأسود، مما يخلق تنوعاً بصرياً عبر المجموعة. تسجل خمس إضافات متنوعة أخطاء طباعية تشمل توشيحات مقلوبة ومضاعفة لكلمة 'بريدية'، بالإضافة إلى اختلافات لونية في حبر التوشيح.
