This commemorative set of three stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on January 1, 1955, to mark the establishment of the Arab Postal Union. أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المؤلفة من ثلاثة طوابع في الأول من يناير 1955 للاحتفال بتأسيس اتحاد البريد العربي. كان اتحاد البريد العربي منظمة تعاون بريدي إقليمية أسست لتسهيل تبادل البريد وتوحيد الخدمات البريدية بين الدول العربية. يحمل كل طابع في المجموعة تصميماً متطابقاً يظهر كرة أرضية تصور منطقة الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا، رمزاً للنطاق الجغرافي لأنشطة الاتحاد. تصاحب الكرة الأرضية خطوط عربية زخرفية على الجانب الأيسر وعبارة 'اتحاد البريد العربي' بالعربية والإنجليزية. صدرت الطوابع بثلاث فئات مختلفة - 15 فلساً باللون الأخضر و20 فلساً بالبنفسجي و25 فلساً بالبني المصفر - لتغطية أسعار بريدية متنوعة. تعكس هذه الإصدارة مشاركة الأردن الفعالة في التعاون العربي الإقليمي خلال الخمسينيات وتظهر التزام المملكة بالمبادرات العربية الموحدة في حقبة ما بعد الاستقلال.
