Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Jordan Post issued this eight-stamp Wild Herbs set in 2011 to showcase the diverse medicinal and aromatic plants found in Jordan's natural landscape. Each 20-piaster stamp features a different herb with significant traditional or culinary importance: Artemisia herba alba (الشيح), Capparis spinosa (الكبار), Lavandula vera (خزامى), Matricaria chamomilla (البابونج), Ocimum basilicum (ريحان), Salvia officinalis (مرمية), Thymus serpyllum (زعتر), and Trigonella foenum-graecum (الحلبة). The stamps display detailed botanical illustrations of each plant against soft, graduated background colors, with both Arabic and Latin names printed on each stamp. This issue reflects Jordan's commitment to preserving knowledge of its indigenous flora and promoting awareness of traditional herbal medicine. The set was designed by Partners for Marketing & Solutions and printed by Post Office Foundation Press in Karachi, Pakistan, with 6,000 stamps produced for each denomination.

أصدر البريد الأردني هذه المجموعة المكونة من ثمانية طوابع للأعشاب البرية في عام 2011 لإبراز تنوع النباتات الطبية والعطرية الموجودة في الطبيعة الأردنية. يعرض كل طابع بقيمة 20 قرشاً عشبة مختلفة ذات أهمية تقليدية أو طهوية كبيرة: الشيح، والكبار، والخزامى، والبابونج، والريحان، والمرمية، والزعتر، والحلبة. تحمل الطوابع رسوماً نباتية مفصلة لكل نبتة على خلفيات ملونة متدرجة ناعمة، مع طباعة الأسماء العربية واللاتينية على كل طابع. تعكس هذه الإصدارة التزام الأردن بحفظ المعرفة بنباتاته الأصلية وتعزيز الوعي بالطب العشبي التقليدي.
