Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of five stamps, issued by Jordan Post on November 21, 2017, celebrates Jordan's four UNESCO World Heritage Sites along with the significant Baptism Site. The stamps showcase Petra, the ancient Nabataean city famous for its rose-red rock-carved architecture; Qusayr Amra, the remarkable 8th-century Umayyad desert castle with its preserved frescoes; Um Er-Rasas, an archaeological site containing Byzantine and early Islamic ruins; and Wadi Rum, the spectacular desert landscape known as the Valley of the Moon. Additionally featured is the Baptism Site at Bethany Beyond the Jordan, recognized as the location where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Each stamp presents these culturally and historically significant sites through vibrant photography, highlighting Jordan's rich heritage spanning from ancient civilizations to early Christianity. The uniform 40 piastres denomination and consistent design elements create visual cohesion while celebrating Jordan's commitment to preserving these treasured monuments for future generations. تحتفل هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من خمسة طوابع، التي أصدر البريد الأردني في 21 نوفمبر 2017، بمواقع التراث العالمي الأربعة لليونسكو في الأردن إلى جانب موقع المغطس المهم. تعرض الطوابع البتراء، المدينة النبطية القديمة المشهورة بعمارتها المنحوتة في الصخر الوردي؛ وقصير عمرة، القصر الأموي الصحراوي الرائع من القرن الثامن مع لوحاته الجدارية المحفوظة؛ وأم الرصاص، الموقع الأثري الذي يحتوي على آثار بيزنطية وإسلامية مبكرة؛ ووادي رم، المنظر الطبيعي الصحراوي المذهل المعروف باسم وادي القمر. يضاف إليها موقع المغطس في بيت عنيا ما وراء الأردن، المعترف به كموقع معمودية السيد المسيح على يد يوحنا المعمدان. يعرض كل طابع هذه المواقع ذات الأهمية الثقافية والتاريخية من خلال التصوير النابض بالحياة، مسلطاً الضوء على التراث الغني للأردن الممتد من الحضارات القديمة إلى المسيحية المبكرة.
