Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of three stamps celebrates the Hashemite Kingdom's restoration and maintenance of sacred sites in Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Issued by Jordan Post in 2018, the set highlights Jordan's historic custodianship role over Islamic and Christian holy places, a responsibility formally recognized in various international agreements. The stamps feature three of the most significant religious monuments: the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Christianity's holiest site believed to encompass Calvary and Christ's tomb; the ornate Saladin Pulpit (Minbar Salah al-Din) in Al-Aqsa Mosque, a masterpiece of medieval Islamic woodcarving; and the iconic Dome of the Rock with its golden cupola, one of Islam's most recognizable architectural achievements. Each 40-piaster stamp showcases detailed architectural elements and decorative features of these sacred structures. The issue reflects Jordan's commitment to preserving interfaith heritage and maintaining the delicate religious balance in Jerusalem, continuing a tradition of Hashemite guardianship that spans generations.

تحتفل هذه المجموعة التذكارية المؤلفة من ثلاثة طوابع بدور المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية في ترميم وصيانة المواقع المقدسة في القدس والأراضي المقدسة. أصدر البريد الأردني هذه المجموعة عام 2018 لتسليط الضوء على دور الأردن التاريخي في حراسة الأماكن المقدسة الإسلامية والمسيحية، وهي مسؤولية معترف بها رسمياً في اتفاقيات دولية متعددة. تعرض الطوابع ثلاثة من أهم المعالم الدينية: كنيسة القيامة المقدسة، أقدس موقع مسيحي يضم الجلجلة وقبر المسيح المزعوم؛ منبر صلاح الدين المزخرف في المسجد الأقصى، تحفة من النحت الخشبي الإسلامي في العصور الوسطى؛ وقبة الصخرة المشرفة بقبتها الذهبية، إحدى أبرز الإنجازات المعمارية الإسلامية. يعكس هذا الإصدار التزام الأردن بحفظ التراث بين الأديان والحفاظ على التوازن الديني الدقيق في القدس.
