Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Jordan Post issued this commemorative set of 12 stamps in 2015 to showcase the traditional national dresses from different regions across Jordan. Each 20-piaster stamp features a woman wearing the distinctive traditional costume of a specific Jordanian governorate or cultural area, including Ajloun, Amman, Jerash, Karak, Ma'an, Madaba, Mafraq, Al-Salt, Tafilah, Umm Qais, and Wadi Rum, along with Bedouin traditional dress. The stamps celebrate Jordan's rich cultural heritage and the diverse regional variations in traditional women's clothing that reflect the country's historical textile craftsmanship and local customs. Each costume displays unique embroidery patterns, jewelry, and fabric choices characteristic of its region. The set was designed by the Elham Naser Foundation and printed by Super Star Press in Jordan, highlighting the importance of preserving and documenting traditional Jordanian cultural expressions through philatelic art.

أصدر البريد الأردني هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من 12 طابعاً عام 2015 لعرض الأزياء الشعبية التقليدية من مناطق مختلفة عبر الأردن. يحمل كل طابع بقيمة 20 قرشاً صورة امرأة ترتدي الزي التقليدي المميز لمحافظة أردنية معينة أو منطقة ثقافية، بما في ذلك عجلون وعمان وجرش والكرك ومعان ومأدبا والمفرق والسلط والطفيلة وأم قيس ووادي رم، إضافة إلى الزي البدوي التقليدي. تحتفل الطوابع بالتراث الثقافي الأردني الغني والتنوع الإقليمي في الملابس النسائية التقليدية التي تعكس الحرفية التاريخية في النسيج والعادات المحلية. يعرض كل زي أنماط تطريز فريدة ومجوهرات وخيارات أقمشة مميزة لمنطقته.
