Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This overprinted stamp set from 2017 features designs from the original 1999 'Cradle of Civilizations - Amman' issue, with new denominations surcharged over the original values. Jordan Post reissued these designs to commemorate the 2nd Amman Philatelic & Numismatic Show and to celebrate Amman's designation as the Capital of Islamic Culture. The overprints change the original 300 Fils denomination to new values of 30 and 50 Piastres respectively. Each stamp displays carved stone figures and artifacts that represent the diverse civilizations that have flourished in the Amman region, from ancient Ammonite kingdoms to later Islamic periods.
