Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of four stamps celebrates traditional farming tools that were essential to Jordan's agricultural heritage for centuries. Issued by Jordan Post in 2011, the set depicts ancient implements that remained fundamental to rural life across the region until modern mechanization transformed farming practices. The stamps showcase the millstone (حجر الرحى) used for grinding grain, the flail (لوح دراس) for threshing wheat and barley, the pitchfork (مذراة) for winnowing grain, and the olive crushing stone wheel (معصرة زيتون) for pressing olives into oil. Each stamp presents these tools in their traditional working context, showing the human labor and animal power that drove agricultural production. The artistic renderings capture both the physical form of these implements and their cultural significance in Jordan's farming communities. تحتفل هذه المجموعة التذكارية المؤلفة من أربعة طوابع بالأدوات الزراعية التقليدية التي كانت أساسية للتراث الزراعي الأردني لقرون عديدة. أصدر البريد الأردني هذه المجموعة في عام ٢٠١١، وتصور الأدوات القديمة التي ظلت أساسية للحياة الريفية في المنطقة حتى غيرت الميكنة الحديثة ممارسات الزراعة. تعرض الطوابع حجر الرحى المستخدم لطحن الحبوب، ولوح الدراس لدرس القمح والشعير، والمذراة لتذرية الحبوب، ومعصرة زيتون لعصر الزيتون إلى زيت. يقدم كل طابع هذه الأدوات في سياق عملها التقليدي، مظهراً العمل البشري وقوة الحيوانات التي كانت تدفع الإنتاج الزراعي. تلتقط الرسوم الفنية الشكل المادي لهذه الأدوات وأهميتها الثقافية في المجتمعات الزراعية الأردنية.
