The 200 fils stamp features the Temple of Hercules columns at the Amman Citadel (Jabal al-Qal'a), remnants of a grand Roman temple complex that once dominated the ancient city of Philadelphia. The 300 fils stamp presents ancient statuary, likely from the archaeological collections found throughout the Citadel area. This issue reflects Jordan's commitment to promoting its archaeological treasures and cultural tourism, emphasizing Amman's continuous habitation spanning millennia from the Ammonite capital of Rabbath Ammon through the Roman Philadelphia to modern-day Amman. تحتفل هذه المجموعة المكونة من ثلاثة طوابع أصدرتها الحكومة الأردنية عام 1999 بعمّان ضمن سلسلة 'مهد الحضارات'، مسلطة الضوء على التراث الأثري الثري للعاصمة. تعرض الطوابع ثلاثة معالم رومانية قديمة مميزة تبقى محورية في الهوية التاريخية لعمّان. يصور الطابع فئة 100 فلس المدرج الروماني الرائع، أحد أفضل المباني القديمة المحفوظة في الأردن والذي بُني في عهد الإمبراطور أنطونيوس بيوس في القرن الثاني الميلادي. يعرض طابع 200 فلس أعمدة معبد هرقل في جبل القلعة، بقايا مجمع معبد روماني كبير هيمن على مدينة فيلادلفيا القديمة. يقدم طابع 300 فلس تماثيل قديمة من المجموعات الأثرية الموجودة في منطقة القلعة. تعكس هذه الإصدارة التزام الأردن بالترويج لكنوزه الأثرية والسياحة الثقافية، مؤكدة على الاستيطان المستمر لعمّان عبر آلاف السنين من عاصمة عمّون ربة عمون مروراً بفيلادلفيا الرومانية وصولاً لعمّان الحديثة.
