This commemorative set was issued by the Government of Jordan in October 1973 to mark the 2500th Anniversary of the Iranian Monarchy, celebrating the ancient Persian Empire founded by Cyrus the Great in 550 BCE. The four stamps honor the diplomatic relationship between Jordan and Iran during the reign of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who organized elaborate celebrations in Persepolis in 1971 to commemorate this milestone. Each stamp features portraits of King Hussein of Jordan and the Shah of Iran, symbolizing the friendship between the two monarchies. The design incorporates significant architectural landmarks: Cyrus's Tomb at Pasargadae, representing the ancient Persian heritage, and the Dome of the Rock (Mosque of Omar) in Jerusalem, reflecting the Islamic connection shared by both nations. The stamps are distinguished by different colored borders and denomination values of 5, 10, 15, and 30 fils. أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية في أكتوبر 1973 لإحياء الذكرى الـ2500 للملكية الإيرانية، احتفالاً بالإمبراطورية الفارسية القديمة التي أسسها كورش الكبير عام 550 قبل الميلاد. تكرم الطوابع الأربعة العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين الأردن وإيران خلال عهد الشاه محمد رضا بهلوي، الذي نظم احتفالات مهيبة في برسيبوليس عام 1971 لإحياء هذه المناسبة التاريخية. يحمل كل طابع صورتين للملك حسين ملك الأردن والشاه الإيراني، رمزاً للصداقة بين الملكيتين. يتضمن التصميم معالم معمارية مهمة: ضريح كورش في باساركاد الذي يمثل التراث الفارسي القديم، وقبة الصخرة في القدس التي تعكس الصلة الإسلامية المشتركة بين البلدين. تتميز الطوابع بإطارات ملونة مختلفة وقيم اسمية 5 و10 و15 و30 فلساً. تمثل هذه الإصدارة مشاركة الأردن في تقدير التراث الإيراني وتظهر الروابط الدبلوماسية بين المملكة الهاشمية والأسرة البهلوية.
