This commemorative set of six stamps and two souvenir sheets honors the pioneering Soviet cosmonauts who led humanity's first ventures into space during the early 1960s. Issued by the Government of Jordan in 1965, the set features portraits of Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space (Vostok 1, 1961); Gherman Titov (Vostok 2, 1961); Andriyan Nikolaev (Vostok 3, 1962); Pavel Popovich (Vostok 4, 1962); Valery Bykovsky (Vostok 5, 1963); and Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space (Vostok 6, 1963). Each diamond-shaped stamp displays the cosmonaut in their space helmet alongside flight details including mission dates and orbital counts. The accompanying souvenir sheets depict Earth with orbital paths and a spacecraft, with one sheet bearing an overprint commemorating the historic Voskhod mission of October 1964, which carried three crew members including Vladimir Komarov, Konstantin Feoktistov, and Boris Yegorov. This issue reflects Jordan's recognition of these monumental achievements in space exploration and the dawn of the space age, celebrating international scientific progress during the height of the space race.
تكرم هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من ستة طوابع وبطاقتين تذكاريتين رواد الفضاء السوفييت الرواد الذين قادوا أولى مغامرات البشرية في الفضاء خلال أوائل الستينيات. أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة عام ١٩٦٥، وتضم صوراً ليوري غاغارين، أول إنسان في الفضاء (فوستوك ١، ١٩٦١)؛ وغيرمان تيتوف (فوستوك ٢، ١٩٦١)؛ وأندريان نيكولايف (فوستوك ٣، ١٩٦٢)؛ وبافل بوبوفيتش (فوستوك ٤، ١٩٦٢)؛ وفاليري بيكوفسكي (فوستوك ٥، ١٩٦٣)؛ وفالنتينا تيريشكوفا، أول امرأة في الفضاء (فوستوك ٦، ١٩٦٣). يعرض كل طابع معيني الشكل صورة لرائد الفضاء في خوذته الفضائية إلى جانب تفاصيل الرحلة شاملة تواريخ المهام وعدد المدارات. تصور البطاقتان التذكاريتان المرفقتان كوكب الأرض مع مسارات مدارية ومركبة فضائية، وتحمل إحداهما توشيحاً يحتفل بمهمة فوسخود التاريخية في أكتوبر ١٩٦٤. تعكس هذه الإصدارة اعتراف الأردن بهذه الإنجازات العظيمة في استكشاف الفضاء وفجر عصر الفضاء.
