Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

تحتفل هذه المجموعة التذكارية بافتتاح ميناء العقبة، البوابة الاستراتيجية للأردن إلى البحر الأحمر والمنفذ الحيوي للتجارة الدولية. أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة في ديسمبر ١٩٦٢، وتتكون من طابعين وبطاقتين تذكاريتين تضم صورة الملك حسين والسفينة الشاحنة رضا في مرافق الميناء المفتتح حديثاً. تعرض الطوابع البنية التحتية الحديثة للميناء مع السفن والرافعات ومنشآت المرفأ التي مثلت القدرات البحرية المتنامية والتنمية الاقتصادية للأردن. كان ميناء العقبة حاسماً لتجارة الأردن، حيث وفر الوصول إلى طرق الشحن الدولية وقلل اعتماد البلاد على موانئ الدول المجاورة. يؤكد وجود الملك حسين على الطوابع الالتزام الملكي بتحديث الأردن وتطوير بنيته التحتية خلال فترة بناء الأمة هذه.
