Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of six stamps and one souvenir sheet was issued by the Government of Jordan on March 1, 1967, to mark the preparations for the 1968 Summer Olympic Games in Mexico City. The stamps feature various Mexican landmarks and architectural sites paired with Olympic torches and rings, showcasing Mexico's cultural heritage and Olympic venues. Each stamp displays a different location: University City with its distinctive mosaic-covered library, traditional fishermen on Lake Patzcuaro, modern Mexico City architecture including skyscrapers, the famous Avenida de la Reforma, Guadalajara Cathedral with its twin spires, and the elegant Fine Arts Theatre (Palacio de Bellas Artes). The Olympic torch appears prominently on each stamp alongside the five Olympic rings, symbolizing the international spirit of the Games. The set includes imperforate varieties of all regular stamps, catering to specialized collectors.
