Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Issued by the Government of Jordan on June 12, 1964, this three-stamp set commemorated the Fourth Session of the Social Studies Seminar for Charitable Societies held in Amman. The seminar was part of Jordan's broader commitment to social welfare and development programs during the 1960s, bringing together charitable organizations to discuss social issues and community development strategies. Each stamp in the set depicts the same touching scene of a mother holding her child, symbolizing the protective and nurturing role of society toward its most vulnerable members. The design emphasizes maternal care and family welfare, core themes of the social work being discussed at the seminar. The stamps feature traditional Middle Eastern dress and styling, reflecting Jordan's cultural heritage while promoting modern social services. Released in denominations of 5, 10, and 25 fils, the set used different background colors to distinguish the values while maintaining the unified theme. This issue represents Jordan's early efforts to use postal stamps as vehicles for promoting social awareness and highlighting the important work of charitable organizations in addressing community needs.

أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية في 12 يونيو 1964 هذه المجموعة المؤلفة من ثلاثة طوابع إحياءً للدورة الرابعة لحلقة الدراسات الاجتماعية للجمعيات الخيرية التي عُقدت في عمّان. كانت هذه الحلقة جزءاً من التزام الأردن الواسع ببرامج الرفاه الاجتماعي والتنمية خلال الستينات، حيث جمعت المنظمات الخيرية لمناقشة القضايا الاجتماعية واستراتيجيات تنمية المجتمع. يعرض كل طابع في المجموعة نفس المشهد المؤثر لأم تحمل طفلها، رامزاً للدور الحامي والمغذي للمجتمع تجاه أعضائه الأكثر ضعفاً. يؤكد التصميم على الرعاية الأمومية ورفاه الأسرة، وهما من المواضيع الأساسية للعمل الاجتماعي الذي نوقش في الحلقة. تُظهر الطوابع الزي الشرق أوسطي التقليدي والأسلوب المحلي، عاكسة التراث الثقافي الأردني مع تعزيز الخدمات الاجتماعية الحديثة.
