This commemorative set of five stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on November 12, 1964, to mark the Arab Summit Conference held on January 13, 1964. The conference was a significant diplomatic gathering where Arab leaders convened to discuss regional issues, particularly the Palestinian question and coordinated Arab responses to regional challenges. Each stamp in the set features a portrait of King Hussein of Jordan alongside a stylized map showing Palestine as it existed in 1920, before the territorial changes that followed. The map is rendered in different colors across the denominations (10, 15, 25, 50, and 80 fils), creating visual variety while maintaining thematic consistency. The stamps bear Arabic text indicating the conference theme and date (مؤتمر القمة العربي ١٩٦٤-١-١٣), emphasizing Jordan's role in Arab unity and the Palestinian cause. The design symbolically connects Jordan's Hashemite leadership under King Hussein with the broader Arab nationalist movement and the ongoing concern for Palestinian territorial integrity.
