Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of five stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on June 10, 1969, to mark the 50th anniversary of the International Labour Organization (ILO), which was founded in 1919 as part of the Treaty of Versailles and became a specialized agency of the United Nations in 1946. The ILO's mission to promote decent work, social justice, and internationally recognized human and labor rights made it a natural subject for postal commemoration during this milestone year. Each stamp in the set features the distinctive ILO emblem - a stylized design showing interlocking gears and hands symbolizing the cooperation between governments, employers, and workers that forms the foundation of the organization's tripartite structure. The emblem appears in white against different colored backgrounds across the five denominations: 10 fils (light greenish blue), 20 fils (orange brown), 25 fils (apple green), 45 fils (magenta), and 60 fils (yellow orange). The stamps are bilingual, displaying both Arabic and English text identifying the International Labour Organization, along with the commemorative dates 1919-1969 in both Western and Arabic numerals, reflecting Jordan's commitment to international cooperation and workers' rights during the reign of King Hussein.

أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من خمسة طوابع في 10 يونيو 1969 للاحتفال بالذكرى الخمسين لتأسيس منظمة العمل الدولية التي تأسست عام 1919 كجزء من معاهدة فرساي وأصبحت وكالة متخصصة تابعة للأمم المتحدة في عام 1946. جعلت مهمة منظمة العمل الدولية في تعزيز العمل اللائق والعدالة الاجتماعية وحقوق الإنسان والعمل المعترف بها دولياً موضوعاً طبيعياً للإحياء البريدي خلال هذا العام المهم. يحمل كل طابع في المجموعة شعار منظمة العمل الدولية المميز - تصميم منمق يظهر تروساً متشابكة وأيادي ترمز للتعاون بين الحكومات وأرباب العمل والعمال الذي يشكل أساس البنية الثلاثية للمنظمة. يظهر الشعار باللون الأبيض على خلفيات بألوان مختلفة عبر الفئات الخمس: 10 فلوس (أزرق مخضر فاتح)، 20 فلوساً (بني برتقالي)، 25 فلساً (أخضر تفاحي)، 45 فلساً (أرجواني)، و60 فلساً (برتقالي مصفر). الطوابع ثنائية اللغة وتعكس التزام الأردن بالتعاون الدولي وحقوق العمال في عهد الملك حسين.
