Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set was issued by Jordan Post to mark Jordan's participation in Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan, held under the theme "Nature's Wisdom." The exposition showcased global environmental awareness and sustainable development, making Jordan's Dead Sea an ideal subject for the pavilion display. The set comprises four stamps and one souvenir sheet, highlighting the unique geological formations of the Dead Sea, located at the lowest point on Earth at 400 meters below sea level. Three stamps feature various crystalline salt formations that naturally occur along the Dead Sea shores, displaying the intricate white mineral deposits created by the hypersaline waters. The fourth stamp captures a atmospheric sunset or sunrise view over the Dead Sea's calm waters, showing silhouetted rock formations against the golden reflection. This micro-universe ecosystem, with its exceptional environmental conditions, represented Jordan's natural heritage at the international exposition dedicated to celebrating nature's wisdom and environmental consciousness.
