Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set celebrates the olive tree, one of Jordan's most culturally and economically significant plants. Issued by the Government of Jordan in November 2001, the two stamps highlight the enduring importance of olive cultivation in Jordanian agriculture and Mediterranean heritage. The 200 fils stamp features olive branches with ripe black olives overlaid on a stylized map of Jordan, symbolizing the tree's geographical distribution across the kingdom. The 300 fils stamp depicts a young girl carefully harvesting olives, representing the traditional family-based approach to olive cultivation that has been passed down through generations. Olive trees have grown in Jordan for millennia, serving not only as a vital food source but also as symbols of peace, prosperity, and resilience. The olive harvest season remains an important cultural event in rural Jordan, bringing families and communities together. تحتفل هذه المجموعة التذكارية بشجرة الزيتون، إحدى أهم النباتات ثقافياً واقتصادياً في الأردن. أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذين الطابعين في نوفمبر 2001 لتسليط الضوء على الأهمية المستمرة لزراعة الزيتون في الزراعة الأردنية والتراث المتوسطي. يعرض طابع الـ 200 فلس أغصان الزيتون مع الثمار السوداء الناضجة على خريطة مبسطة للأردن، رمزاً للتوزيع الجغرافي للشجرة عبر المملكة. يصور طابع الـ 300 فلس فتاة صغيرة تقطف الزيتون بعناية، ممثلة النهج التقليدي العائلي في زراعة الزيتون المتوارث عبر الأجيال. نمت أشجار الزيتون في الأردن لآلاف السنين، وهي ليست فقط مصدراً غذائياً حيوياً بل أيضاً رمزاً للسلام والازدهار والصمود.
