Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of five stamps honors the Hashemite dynasty that has ruled Jordan since its founding. Issued by Jordan Post in 2003, the set presents portraits of the kingdom's monarchs in chronological order, tracing the royal lineage from the Arab Revolt to the modern era. The stamps feature Sherif Hussein bin Ali, who led the Arab Revolt against Ottoman rule and founded the Hashemite dynasty; King Abdullah I, Jordan's founding monarch who established the Emirate of Transjordan in 1921; King Talal, who reigned briefly but enacted important constitutional reforms; King Hussein, who ruled for nearly half a century and modernized the kingdom; and the current monarch King Abdullah II.
