Issued by Jordan Post in November 2008, this commemorative set celebrates Qusair Amra (also spelled Quseir Amra), one of Jordan's most significant Umayyad desert castles and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the early 8th century as a hunting lodge and retreat for the Umayyad caliphs, Qusair Amra is renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved fresco paintings that represent some of the finest examples of early Islamic art. The set comprises 4 stamps and 1 souvenir sheet, each featuring different aspects of the castle's remarkable interior decorations. The stamps showcase the vivid frescoes that adorn the walls and ceiling of this desert palace, including depictions of human figures, hunting scenes, astronomical motifs, and decorative patterns that reflect the cosmopolitan culture of the Umayyad period. أصدر البريد الأردني في نوفمبر 2008 هذه المجموعة التذكارية احتفالاً بقصير عمرة، أحد أهم القصور الأموية الصحراوية في الأردن وموقع التراث العالمي لليونسكو. بُني في أوائل القرن الثامن الميلادي كنزل للصيد ومكان للاستراحة للخلفاء الأمويين، ويشتهر قصير عمرة بلوحاته الجدارية المحفوظة بشكل استثنائي والتي تمثل من أروع أمثلة الفن الإسلامي المبكر. تضم المجموعة 4 طوابع وبطاقة تذكارية واحدة، يعرض كل منها جوانب مختلفة من الزخارف الداخلية الرائعة للقصر. تعرض الطوابع اللوحات الجدارية الزاهية التي تزين جدران وسقف هذا القصر الصحراوي، بما في ذلك تصوير الشخصيات البشرية ومشاهد الصيد والزخارف الفلكية والأنماط الزخرفية التي تعكس الثقافة العالمية للعصر الأموي. هذه الأعمال الفنية القديمة مهمة بشكل خاص لأنها تمثل أمثلة نادرة من الفن التصويري من الحضارة الإسلامية المبكرة، مما يجعل قصير عمرة كنزاً أثرياً فريداً يربط بين التقاليد الفنية البيزنطية والفارسية والإسلامية المبكرة.
