Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of five stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on December 10, 1983, to mark the 35th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. The issue honors this milestone document that established fundamental human rights principles worldwide. Each stamp in the set features identical symbolic emblems representing human rights advocacy and international justice. The design incorporates a circular emblem showing stylized human figures in white, blue, and yellow, symbolizing unity and diversity among peoples. Adjacent to this is the iconic scales of justice balanced over a globe, topped with a flame representing the eternal vigilance required to protect human rights. The Arabic text emphasizes Jordan's commitment to international human rights principles under the Hashemite Kingdom. The stamps were issued in five denominations (10, 25, 40, 50, and 100 fils) with varying background colors from green to pink, making the set both symbolically meaningful and philatelically attractive. This issue reflects Jordan's participation in the international community's recognition of human rights as universal values transcending national boundaries.

أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المؤلفة من خمسة طوابع في 10 ديسمبر 1983، بمناسبة الذكرى الخامسة والثلاثين للإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان الذي اعتمدته الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في 10 ديسمبر 1948. يحتفل هذا الإصدار بهذه الوثيقة المهمة التي أرست مبادئ حقوق الإنسان الأساسية في العالم. يحمل كل طابع في المجموعة رموزاً متطابقة تمثل الدفاع عن حقوق الإنسان والعدالة الدولية. يتضمن التصميم شعاراً دائرياً يظهر أشكالاً بشرية منمقة باللونين الأبيض والأزرق والأصفر، ترمز إلى الوحدة والتنوع بين الشعوب. بجانب ذلك يظهر ميزان العدالة المتوازن فوق الكرة الأرضية، وتعلوه شعلة ترمز إلى اليقظة الدائمة المطلوبة لحماية حقوق الإنسان. تؤكد النصوص العربية التزام الأردن بمبادئ حقوق الإنسان الدولية تحت المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية.
