Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of five stamps and one souvenir sheet was issued by the Government of Jordan on September 16, 1983, to mark the establishment of the Royal Academy for Islamic Civilization Research (Al al-Bayt Foundation). The 40 fils shows a view of Amman with its prominent mosque, and the 50 fils presents a panoramic view of Jerusalem, highlighting Jordan's historical connection to the holy city. The 100 fils stamp displays multiple holy sites of Islam in circular vignettes. The souvenir sheet features a historic letter from Prophet Mohammed to the Byzantine Emperor Heraclius, emphasizing the Academy's mission to preserve important Islamic historical documents and artifacts. This issue reflects Jordan's position as a guardian of Islamic heritage and its commitment to scholarly research in Islamic civilization.

أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من خمسة طوابع وبطاقة تذكارية واحدة في 16 سبتمبر 1983 للاحتفال بتأسيس المجمع الملكي لبحوث الحضارة الإسلامية (مؤسسة آل البيت). تأسس المجمع كجزء من التزام الأردن بالحفاظ على التراث الإسلامي وتعزيزه تحت القيادة الهاشمية. تعرض الطوابع جوانب مختلفة من الحضارة الإسلامية ودور الأردن في حماية هذا التراث. يصور طابع العشرة فلسات مبنى المجمع في عمان، بينما يعرض طابع الخمسة والعشرين فلساً سجادة حريرية مزخرفة تمثل الفنون الزخرفية الإسلامية. يظهر طابع الأربعين فلساً منظراً لعمان مع مسجدها البارز، ويقدم طابع الخمسين فلساً منظراً بانورامياً للقدس. يعرض طابع المئة فلس مواقع إسلامية مقدسة متعددة. تحتوي البطاقة التذكارية على رسالة تاريخية من النبي محمد إلى الإمبراطور البيزنطي هرقل، مما يؤكد مهمة المجمع في حفظ الوثائق والآثار الإسلامية المهمة.
