Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of five stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on December 1, 1982, to mark the Second United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, held in Vienna. The conference, known as UNISPACE-82, brought together nations to discuss space technology's role in addressing global challenges and promoting international cooperation in space exploration for peaceful purposes. Each stamp in the set features identical design elements against a deep blue starry space background: a stylized satellite or spacecraft with orbital trajectories, Earth showing its curved horizon in orange and brown tones, a radio telescope dish antenna representing space communications technology, and the distinctive blue UN emblem. The Arabic text emphasizes the peaceful exploration and utilization of outer space. The stamps were issued in five different denominations (10, 25, 40, 50, and 100 fils) with subtle variations in the border colors - green, yellow, light blue, beige, and pink respectively - while maintaining the same central space-themed imagery. This issue reflects Jordan's support for international space cooperation and the UN's efforts to ensure that space exploration benefits all humanity rather than serving military purposes.

أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المؤلفة من خمسة طوابع في الأول من ديسمبر عام 1982 بمناسبة المؤتمر الثاني للأمم المتحدة حول استكشاف الفضاء الخارجي واستعماله للأغراض السلمية، الذي انعقد في فيينا. جمع هذا المؤتمر، المعروف باسم يونيسبيس-82، الدول لمناقشة دور تكنولوجيا الفضاء في معالجة التحديات العالمية وتعزيز التعاون الدولي في استكشاف الفضاء للأغراض السلمية. يحمل كل طابع في المجموعة نفس عناصر التصميم على خلفية زرقاء عميقة مليئة بالنجوم: قمر صناعي أو مركبة فضائية مع مدارات، والأرض التي تظهر أفقها المنحني بألوان برتقالية وبنية، وهوائي تلسكوب راديوي يمثل تكنولوجيا الاتصالات الفضائية، وشعار الأمم المتحدة الأزرق المميز. صدرت الطوابع بخمس فئات مختلفة مع اختلافات طفيفة في ألوان الإطارات، مما يعكس دعم الأردن للتعاون الفضائي الدولي وجهود الأمم المتحدة لضمان استفادة البشرية جمعاء من استكشاف الفضاء.
