Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Issued by the Government of Jordan on July 2, 1988, this commemorative set of two stamps celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the Arab Scout Movement. The Arab Scout Movement, established in the early 20th century, played a significant role in youth development across the Arab world, promoting leadership, community service, and international brotherhood. This milestone anniversary provided Jordan with an opportunity to honor the movement's contributions to Arab society and its continued relevance in fostering positive values among young people. Both stamps feature identical designs showcasing key scouting emblems against a backdrop of Earth, symbolizing the global reach and universal appeal of scouting principles. The purple fleur-de-lis, a traditional scouting symbol representing the three-fold promise of duty to God, country, and others, is prominently displayed alongside the distinctive Scout emblem. The inclusion of the Arab League emblem emphasizes the pan-Arab nature of this scouting movement. The curved Earth image reinforces the international scope of scouting while highlighting the Arab world's participation in this global youth movement. The set was printed in two different background colors - grey blue and orange - creating visual variety while maintaining thematic unity.

أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية في الثاني من يوليو عام 1988 هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من طابعين احتفالاً بالذكرى الخامسة والسبعين للحركة الكشفية العربية. لعبت الحركة الكشفية العربية، التي تأسست في أوائل القرن العشرين، دوراً مهماً في تنمية الشباب عبر العالم العربي، حيث عززت القيادة وخدمة المجتمع والأخوة الدولية. وفرت هذه الذكرى المئوية الهامة للأردن فرصة لتكريم إسهامات الحركة في المجتمع العربي واستمرار أهميتها في غرس القيم الإيجابية بين الشباب. يحمل كلا الطابعين تصميماً متطابقاً يعرض الشعارات الكشفية الأساسية على خلفية من كوكب الأرض، مما يرمز إلى الانتشار العالمي والجاذبية الشمولية للمبادئ الكشفية. تظهر زهرة الليلك البنفسجية، وهي رمز كشفي تقليدي يمثل الوعد الثلاثي بالواجب نحو الله والوطن والآخرين، بشكل بارز إلى جانب الشعار الكشفي المميز. يؤكد إدراج شعار الجامعة العربية على الطبيعة العربية الشاملة لهذه الحركة الكشفية.
