This commemorative set of five stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on September 12, 1982, to honor Salt Secondary School, one of Jordan's most historically significant educational institutions. Salt, an ancient city northeast of Amman, has served as an important center of learning in the region for generations. The stamps feature an identical photograph showing the distinctive stone architecture of the school building with its characteristic arched windows and doorways, typical of traditional Jordanian construction. A Jordanian flag flies prominently in the foreground, symbolizing national pride in educational achievement. The building's warm limestone facade reflects the architectural heritage common to the Salt region, while the blue sky provides a striking backdrop. Each denomination features the same central image but with different colored borders - green for the lower values, blue for the 40 fils, brown for the 50 fils, and pink for the 100 fils.
