أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية من خلال وزارة البريد والاتصالات مجموعة من ثلاثة طوابع في السادس عشر من أكتوبر عام 1981 إحياءً ليوم الغذاء العالمي. تحتفل هذه الطوابع بمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة ومهمتها في مكافحة الجوع عالمياً. يحمل كل طابع شعار المنظمة المميز في الوسط وهو شعار دائري يضم اسم المنظمة بالخط العربي محيطاً بالرمز الأيقوني لسنابل القمح المشكلة لحرفي 'F' و'O'. الشعار محاط بأغصان الزيتون وحزم القمح المزخرفة باللونين الأخضر والذهبي، رامزاً للوفرة الزراعية والتراث المتوسطي للمنطقة. تعرض الطوابع ذات التصميم العمودي زخارف القمح المتقنة على الحواف، مؤكدة على الموضوع الزراعي المحوري في عمل المنظمة. يهدف يوم الغذاء العالمي، الذي أسسته منظمة الأغذية والزراعة عام 1979، إلى زيادة الوعي بالجوع العالمي وتعزيز العمل العالمي للذين يعانون من الجوع وسوء التغذية.
