أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية في الخامس من أكتوبر ١٩٨٥ دعماً لحملة اليونيسيف للمحافظة على بقاء الأطفال، وهي مبادرة عالمية لتقليل معدلات وفيات الرضع والأطفال من خلال تحسين الرعاية الصحية والتغذية وبرامج التطعيم. ركزت الحملة على التدخلات البسيطة والفعالة من حيث التكلفة التي يمكنها إنقاذ ملايين الأطفال سنوياً في البلدان النامية. تعرض الطوابع الأربعة جوانب مختلفة من رعاية الأطفال والرعاية الصحية: الرعاية الأمومية مع المرافق الطبية، ومراقبة صحة الطفل من خلال الوزن المنتظم، وتنوع وإمكانات الأطفال ممثلة كبالونات ملونة، والأهمية الأساسية للرضاعة الطبيعية لتغذية الرضع. يحمل كل طابع شعار اليونيسيف مع نص عربي يروج لصحة الأطفال. تعكس هذه الإصدارة الطوابعية التزام الأردن بالجهود الإنسانية الدولية وحقوق الأطفال.
