The Government of Jordan issued this commemorative set of five stamps on August 11, 1985, to mark the International Youth Year declared by the United Nations. The stamps celebrate the vital role of youth in national development and international cooperation, featuring the official IYY emblem alongside portraits of King Hussein. Each denomination presents different symbolic representations of youth engagement: the 10 fils displays the International Youth Year emblem with dual profile silhouettes representing unity and diversity; the 25 fils shows an Arab couple overlaid on a map with the Jordanian flag, emphasizing regional youth identity; the 40 fils depicts stylized figures supporting the globe and flag, symbolizing international solidarity; the 60 fils features educational and industrial symbols emerging from a decorative vase; and the 125 fils shows celebratory figures in multiple colors representing youth diversity and empowerment. All stamps prominently feature King Hussein's portrait, reflecting Jordan's commitment to youth development under his leadership. The multicolored designs incorporate the UN emblem and Jordanian national symbols, demonstrating the kingdom's participation in this global initiative to promote youth participation, development, and peace.
أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من خمسة طوابع في 11 أغسطس 1985، احتفالاً بالسنة الدولية للشباب التي أعلنتها الأمم المتحدة. تحتفل هذه الطوابع بالدور الحيوي للشباب في التنمية الوطنية والتعاون الدولي، وتضم الشعار الرسمي للسنة الدولية للشباب إلى جانب صور الملك حسين. يقدم كل فئة تمثيلاً رمزياً مختلفاً لمشاركة الشباب: يعرض طابع العشرة فلس شعار السنة الدولية للشباب مع صورتين جانبيتين تمثلان الوحدة والتنوع؛ ويظهر طابع الخمسة والعشرين فلس زوجاً عربياً على خريطة مع العلم الأردني، مؤكداً على الهوية الإقليمية للشباب؛ ويصور طابع الأربعين فلس شخصيات منمقة تدعم الكرة الأرضية والعلم، رمزاً للتضامن الدولي؛ ويعرض طابع الستين فلس رموزاً تعليمية وصناعية تخرج من إناء زخرفي؛ ويظهر طابع المائة والخمسة والعشرين فلس شخصيات احتفالية بألوان متعددة تمثل تنوع الشباب وتمكينهم.
