Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set of two stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on October 20, 1987, to mark the 40th anniversary of the Jordanian Parliament. The 80 fils stamp presents a contemporary view of the parliament in session during 1987, demonstrating the continuity and evolution of Jordan's democratic processes. أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من طابعين في 20 أكتوبر 1987 بمناسبة الذكرى الأربعين لتأسيس مجلس الأمة الأردني. تأسس مجلس الأمة الأردني عام 1947 كهيئة تشريعية مكونة من مجلسين هما مجلس النواب ومجلس الأعيان، وقد لعب دوراً محورياً في نظام الملكية الدستورية الأردنية، مثل صوت الشعب في الحكم والشؤون التشريعية. تقدم هذه المجموعة مقارنة تاريخية تمتد عبر أربعة عقود من التقليد البرلماني في الأردن. يعرض طابع الستين فلساً حفل الافتتاح من عام 1947، مظهراً التأسيس الرسمي لهذه المؤسسة الديمقراطية مع اجتماع كبار المسؤولين والوجهاء لهذه المناسبة التاريخية. أما طابع الثمانين فلساً فيقدم منظراً معاصراً للمجلس في جلسة عام 1987، مما يدل على استمرارية وتطور العمليات الديمقراطية الأردنية عبر العقود.
