This commemorative set of three stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on June 17, 1981, to mark World Telecommunications Day with the theme "Telecommunications and Health" (الاتصالات والصحة). The stamps celebrate the vital connection between communications technology and global health initiatives through a striking symbolic design that merges the emblems of two major United Nations agencies: the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Each stamp features an artistic composition where colorful ribbons interweave the ITU and WHO logos to form a caduceus-like symbol, representing the marriage of telecommunications and healthcare. The design incorporates radio wave patterns emanating from a transmission tower, symbolizing how modern communications enable rapid dissemination of health information, coordination of medical services, and global health monitoring. The three denominations (25, 40, and 50 fils) share identical imagery but feature different background colors - light blue, yellow, and peach respectively. The set also exists in imperforate varieties. This issue reflects Jordan's commitment to international cooperation in both telecommunications development and public health advancement during the early 1980s, when such technological integration was becoming increasingly important for developing nations.
أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من ثلاثة طوابع في 17 يونيو 1981 بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للاتصالات تحت شعار "الاتصالات والصحة". تحتفل هذه الطوابع بالصلة الحيوية بين تكنولوجيا الاتصالات ومبادرات الصحة العالمية من خلال تصميم رمزي مذهل يدمج شعاري وكالتين رئيسيتين من وكالات الأمم المتحدة: الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات ومنظمة الصحة العالمية. يعرض كل طابع تركيباً فنياً حيث تتداخل أشرطة ملونة مع شعاري الاتحاد الدولي للاتصالات ومنظمة الصحة العالمية لتشكل رمزاً يشبه عصا هرمس، مما يمثل اقتران الاتصالات والرعاية الصحية. يتضمن التصميم أنماط موجات راديوية تنبعث من برج إرسال، مما يرمز إلى كيفية تمكين الاتصالات الحديثة من النشر السريع للمعلومات الصحية وتنسيق الخدمات الطبية والمراقبة الصحية العالمية. تشترك الفئات الثلاث بنفس الصورة لكن بألوان خلفية مختلفة. تعكس هذه الإصدارة التزام الأردن بالتعاون الدولي في تطوير الاتصالات والنهوض بالصحة العامة.
