This commemorative set of five stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on June 9, 1984, to celebrate Independence Day and Army Day. The stamps honor Jordan's national sovereignty and showcase the strength of the Jordanian Armed Forces under King Hussein's leadership. Each stamp features King Hussein alongside different military units and symbols of national defense. The 10 fils depicts the King with tanks representing armored forces, while the 25 fils shows him with a naval patrol boat highlighting Jordan's maritime capabilities. The 40 fils stamp portrays the King with the traditional camel corps, reflecting Jordan's desert military heritage. The 60 fils features King Hussein with soldiers at the Independence Monument, symbolizing national unity and freedom. The highest denomination, 100 fils, shows parading soldiers carrying banners in a military ceremony. All stamps bear the Jordanian coat of arms and bilingual inscriptions in Arabic and English. The set was also produced in imperforate variants, possibly as proofs. This issue reflects Jordan's dual celebration of its independence achieved on May 25, 1946, and the honor given to its armed forces on the same annual occasion.
أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من خمسة طوابع في 9 يونيو 1984 للاحتفال بعيد الاستقلال ويوم الجيش. تكرم هذه الطوابع السيادة الوطنية الأردنية وتعرض قوة القوات المسلحة الأردنية تحت قيادة الملك حسين. يظهر كل طابع الملك حسين إلى جانب وحدات عسكرية مختلفة ورموز الدفاع الوطني. يصور طابع الـ10 فلسات الملك مع الدبابات ممثلة القوات المدرعة، بينما يظهر طابع الـ25 فلساً مع زورق دورية بحرية يبرز القدرات البحرية الأردنية. يعرض طابع الـ40 فلساً الملك مع سلاح الهجانة التقليدي، مما يعكس التراث العسكري الصحراوي للأردن. يظهر طابع الـ60 فلساً الملك حسين مع الجنود عند نصب الاستقلال، رمزاً للوحدة الوطنية والحرية. يعرض الطابع الأعلى فئة 100 فلس جنوداً يسيرون حاملين الرايات في حفل عسكري. تحمل جميع الطوابع شعار الأردن ونقوشاً ثنائية اللغة بالعربية والإنجليزية.
