This commemorative set of five stamps was issued by the Government of Jordan on April 12, 1982, to mark the 30th anniversary of the Arab Postal Union (APU). The Arab Postal Union was established in 1952 as a specialized organization under the Arab League to coordinate postal services and improve mail exchange between Arab countries. Each stamp in the set features the distinctive APU emblem prominently displayed within a decorative circular design, surrounded by Arabic calligraphy and the organization's name in both Arabic and English. The stamps incorporate Jordan's national colors and postal design elements typical of the early 1980s, including airmail border patterns in red and blue. The APU emblem itself contains symbols representing postal communication across the Arab world. This issue demonstrates Jordan's commitment to Arab unity and its active participation in regional postal cooperation. The five denominations (10, 25, 40, 50, and 100 Fils) provided practical postal rates for domestic and international mail during this period, while serving as vehicles for celebrating this important milestone in Arab postal history.
أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من خمسة طوابع في 12 أبريل 1982 للاحتفال بالذكرى السنوية الثلاثين لتأسيس الاتحاد البريدي العربي. تأسس الاتحاد البريدي العربي عام 1952 كمنظمة متخصصة تحت مظلة الجامعة العربية لتنسيق الخدمات البريدية وتحسين تبادل البريد بين البلدان العربية. يعرض كل طابع في المجموعة شعار الاتحاد البريدي العربي المميز ضمن تصميم دائري زخرفي، محاطاً بالخط العربي واسم المنظمة بالعربية والإنجليزية. تتضمن الطوابع الألوان الوطنية الأردنية وعناصر التصميم البريدي المميزة لأوائل الثمانينيات، بما في ذلك أنماط حدود البريد الجوي باللونين الأحمر والأزرق. يحتوي شعار الاتحاد البريدي العربي نفسه على رموز تمثل التواصل البريدي عبر العالم العربي. تُظهر هذه الإصدارة التزام الأردن بالوحدة العربية ومشاركته الفعالة في التعاون البريدي الإقليمي.
