This stamp set was issued by the Government of Jordan on December 1, 1993, to commemorate World AIDS Day, an annual observance established by the World Health Organization to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and demonstrate solidarity with those affected by the pandemic. The two stamps feature identical designs against different colored backgrounds - orange and green - both displaying symbolic elements related to AIDS awareness. Each stamp incorporates the official World AIDS Day emblem featuring a globe surrounded by text, alongside artistic representations of human profiles in contrasting colors symbolizing the global reach of the epidemic. A decorative circular emblem with Arabic calligraphy appears prominently on each design. The set was complemented by an imperf souvenir sheet containing both stamp designs. This issue reflected Jordan's commitment to international health awareness campaigns during a critical period when global understanding of HIV/AIDS was expanding and prevention efforts were being intensified worldwide.
أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة في الأول من ديسمبر 1993 إحياءً لليوم العالمي للإيدز، وهو مناسبة سنوية أقرتها منظمة الصحة العالمية لزيادة الوعي حول فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية والإيدز وإظهار التضامن مع المصابين بهذا الوباء. يحمل الطابعان تصميماً متماثلاً على خلفيتين ملونتين مختلفتين - برتقالية وخضراء - ويعرضان عناصر رمزية متعلقة بالتوعية حول الإيدز. يتضمن كل طابع شعار اليوم العالمي للإيدز الرسمي الذي يضم كرة أرضية محاطة بنص، إلى جانب تمثيلات فنية لصور شخصية بألوان متباينة ترمز إلى الانتشار العالمي للوباء. تظهر بشكل بارز على كل تصميم رمز دائري زخرفي يحمل خطاً عربياً. أُكملت المجموعة ببطاقة تذكارية غير مثقبة تحتوي على تصميمي الطابعين.
