This commemorative set of three stamps and one souvenir sheet was issued by the Government of Jordan through its Ministry of Post & Communications on December 27, 1999, to mark the coronation of King Abdullah II ibn Hussein. The stamps honor the formal ceremonial investiture of Jordan's new monarch, who had assumed the throne earlier that year following the death of his father, King Hussein, in February 1999. Each stamp features an identical formal portrait of King Abdullah II in full military dress uniform with decorations, positioned within an ornate frame topped by the royal crown. The portrait shows the King in ceremonial attire befitting his role as commander-in-chief of the Jordan Armed Forces. The three stamps are differentiated by their border colors - red for the 100 fils, green for the 200 fils, and blue for the 300 fils denomination. The souvenir sheet presents the same design in gold tones. This philatelic tribute represents an important milestone in Jordan's modern history, marking the peaceful transition of power to the fourth generation of Hashemite rule and celebrating the continuity of the constitutional monarchy that has guided Jordan since independence.
أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية من خلال وزارة البريد والاتصالات هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من ثلاثة طوابع وبطاقة تذكارية واحدة في 27 ديسمبر 1999 لإحياء ذكرى تتويج جلالة الملك عبد الله الثاني ابن الحسين. تكرم الطوابع الاحتفال الرسمي بتنصيب ملك الأردن الجديد، الذي تولى العرش في وقت سابق من ذلك العام بعد وفاة والده الملك الحسين في فبراير 1999. يحمل كل طابع صورة رسمية متطابقة لجلالة الملك عبد الله الثاني بالزي العسكري الكامل مع الأوسمة، موضوعة ضمن إطار مزخرف يعلوه التاج الملكي. تُظهر الصورة جلالة الملك بالزي الاحتفالي الذي يليق بدوره كقائد أعلى للقوات المسلحة الأردنية. تتميز الطوابع الثلاثة بألوان حوافها - الأحمر لفئة 100 فلس، والأخضر لفئة 200 فلس، والأزرق لفئة 300 فلس. تقدم البطاقة التذكارية التصميم نفسه بدرجات ذهبية. يمثل هذا التكريم الطابعي معلماً مهماً في تاريخ الأردن الحديث، مؤكداً الانتقال السلمي للسلطة إلى الجيل الرابع من الحكم الهاشمي ومحتفلاً باستمرارية النظام الملكي الدستوري الذي يقود الأردن منذ الاستقلال.
