This commemorative set of three stamps celebrates Petra, Jordan's most famous archaeological site and UNESCO World Heritage location, as part of the 'Cradle of Civilizations' series. Issued by the Government of Jordan through its Ministry of Post & Communications in 1999, the set showcases iconic Nabataean monuments carved into the rose-red sandstone cliffs of this ancient city. Each stamp is elegantly framed with decorative Islamic geometric borders in gold and burgundy, emphasizing Jordan's cultural heritage. The 100 fils stamp presents an aerial perspective of the Monastery (El-Deir), one of Petra's largest and most impressive facades. The 200 fils stamp features the world-famous Treasury (Al-Khazneh), Petra's most photographed monument that served as the city's ceremonial entrance. The 300 fils stamp displays another remarkable rock-carved structure set dramatically within the natural cliff formations. These stamps not only promote Jordan's tourism industry but also highlight the country's role as custodian of one of humanity's greatest archaeological treasures, demonstrating the sophisticated engineering and artistic achievements of the Nabataean civilization that flourished here over two millennia ago.
تحتفل هذه المجموعة التذكارية المكونة من ثلاثة طوابع بالبتراء، أشهر موقع أثري في الأردن وموقع التراث العالمي لليونسكو، كجزء من سلسلة 'مهد الحضارات'. أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة من خلال وزارة البريد والاتصالات عام 1999، وتعرض معالم نبطية أيقونية منحوتة في منحدرات الحجر الرملي الوردي لهذه المدينة القديمة. يحمل كل طابع إطاراً أنيقاً من الزخارف الإسلامية الهندسية بالذهبي والعنابي، مما يؤكد على التراث الثقافي الأردني. يعرض طابع المئة فلس منظوراً جوياً للدير، أحد أكبر وأروع الواجهات في البتراء. يضم طابع المئتي فلس الخزنة الشهيرة عالمياً، أكثر معالم البتراء تصويراً والتي خدمت كمدخل احتفالي للمدينة. يعرض طابع الثلاثمئة فلس بناءً صخرياً منحوتاً آخر يقع بشكل درامي ضمن التشكيلات الصخرية الطبيعية. تروج هذه الطوابع لصناعة السياحة الأردنية وتبرز دور الأردن كحارس لأحد أعظم الكنوز الأثرية للإنسانية.
