Stamps of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

This commemorative set was issued by the Government of Jordan in 1998 to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Transjordan Emirate on May 25, 1923. The three stamps honor the founding legacy of Emir Abdullah I and the continued leadership of King Hussein, showcasing the Hashemite dynasty's role in Jordan's development from a British Mandate territory to an independent kingdom. The first two stamps feature individual portraits of King Abdullah I and King Hussein respectively, each set against desert scenes with camels that evoke Jordan's Bedouin heritage and the Arab Revolt. The third stamp and accompanying souvenir sheet present both rulers together alongside Jordan's coat of arms and a reproduction of an original 1923 9-piaster stamp, symbolically linking the emirate's founding with the modern kingdom. This philatelic tribute reflects Jordan's pride in its Hashemite heritage and the continuity of leadership that guided the nation through its formative decades under the British Mandate and into full independence.

أصدرت الحكومة الأردنية هذه المجموعة التذكارية عام 1998 بمناسبة الذكرى الخامسة والسبعين لتأسيس إمارة شرق الأردن في 25 أيار 1923. تكرم الطوابع الثلاثة إرث الأمير عبد الله الأول المؤسس والقيادة المستمرة للملك حسين، مظهرة دور الأسرة الهاشمية في تطوير الأردن من إقليم تحت الانتداب البريطاني إلى مملكة مستقلة. يعرض الطابعان الأولان صورتين منفردتين للملك عبد الله الأول والملك حسين على خلفية مشاهد صحراوية مع الجمال تستحضر التراث البدوي الأردني والثورة العربية. يقدم الطابع الثالث والبطاقة التذكارية المرافقة كلا الحاكمين معاً إلى جانب شعار الأردن ونسخة من طابع عام 1923 فئة 9 قروش، رابطة رمزياً بين تأسيس الإمارة والمملكة الحديثة.
